Red Alert: The Toxic Environment

Toxic environments exist in churches that are constantly firing and hiring new pastors and staff. 

The pattern usually goes something like this: 

The new pastor, worship leader, or children’s pastor comes in and everyone is euphoric. “This man preaches the Word with passion and excellence.” “Our new worship leader brings me into the presence of God.” “Wow, this children’s pastor has so many awesome ideas and creative innovations!”

Slowly over time, the new staff member’s shine begins to wear off…
